Space Rocks

48 Hour Film Submission

Space RocksYet another 48 Hour Film competition has come and gone.  This year we drew Sci-Fi or Musical...naturally we had to make a Sci-Fi Musical.  Now this is my 10th 48 Hour Film competition and as a team we've always shied away from musical challenges.  This year however we wanted to try something a little different.

Over the past few years we've had a very welcome addition to team Contagious in young Brandon Alley.  Brandon being an extremely talented DJ and musician brought an element to our team that made us want to reach for the brass ring this time.  That coupled with the incredible talents of all of our existing team members (you know who you are) allowed us to let our minds wander a bit further than they typically would have (see Lord Fizzybottom: Gentleman Adventurer).

The writing process for this film was certainly different from our typical 48 challenges in that we had to immediately write our theme song "Space Rocks," before we could even start shooting.  This surprisingly didn't slow us down.  What can I say?  You do this enough times and you start to get the hang of it.

Incredible prop work as always by Austin Thompson of Brush4HIre can be seen throughout the film.  A very special thanks goes to Centline Digital for the use of their chroma studio/lighting and employees, without it this simply would not have been possible.

Without further ado I present to you Space Rocks.

I hope you enjoy.
